Welcome Co-op members!
This blog will serve to update the Newark Community Co-op membership on the progress of our Board of Steward's recommendations for By-Laws revision. The Board anticipates offering a first set of By-Law revision recommendations - a must list - for voting in 2012 and then holding a second voting meeting for the membership sometime in the spring to finish it up.
Here, I, Nancy Willing, Board Secretary and member of the By-Laws Committee, will post about the work to-date accomplished by our Committee and the work yet ahead.
I will also post about our process, post our Committee Charter, post the Board discussion to-date and open the blog to the membership for feedback.
As we are nearing the Annual General Membership Meeting - set for Sunday, October 28th, our hope is to bring the membership into the discussion early by way of blogging online and through the e-news, the website, on facebook and in-store postings.
The By-Laws Committee was formed last spring and approved by the Board of Stewards in an effort to pick up on the work of prior Boards to revise the By-Laws, especially to bring them into compliance with Delaware Corporate Code. The Committee is ready to share our recommendations and eager to hear back from the membership.
